An Itinerary to discover Recanati, the birthplace of the great tenor Beniamino Gigli!
Follow the footsteps of Beniamino Gigli to explore the best of Recanati. The tour starts at the Cathedral of Recanati: an expert guide will accompany the group throughout the tour, explaining the visited places and introducing the many musical and emotional moments. The visit of the Cathedral, focuses initially on illustrating the history of the place and the works in it enclosed, and then offers an action-exhibition recalling Gigli child in the choir of the Cathedral. The visit continues in the Marche Emigration Museum where a singing initiative of Gigli songs will entertain the public. The next visit to the historic Persiani Theatre will be accompanied by a surprising musical intrusion, while the tour in the Gigli Museum, hosted in the theater, will end with a small exhibition held by professional musicians and / or singers. A final buffet lunch or dinner, with an Italian menu of 4 main dishes, offered by the chefs of the hotel Gallery, will close this exciting dive into the world of this Marche native tenor.
It is optionally possible to combine the tour "On Beniamino Gigli’s footsteps" a thematic insight on the great poet Giacomo Leopardi in his native village. An experienced guide will accompany the group throughout the historic center of Recanati illustrating the key places of the poet's life and introducing the various emotional moments of the itinerary. The close-up with Giacomo Leopardi will begin by the square of the Sabato del Villaggio (Saturday of the Village) and will continue with a private visit to Leopardi Palace and the ascent to the hill of the Infinite with the reading of the verses on the “caro ermo colle” (dear lonely hill). The visit will then develop in the village, between stops and citations in significant locations, that will allow to relive the human and literary events of the young Giacomo, enriched by surprising poetic / literary intrusions presented by professional actors and voices.
